Sergio Pego

Sergio advises investors, corporates and project sponsors on high-stakes growth, investment and cross-border initiatives across Europe and international markets. He combines top-tier strategy and corporate finance advisory experience with hands-on executive roles inside live industrial platforms, helping clients move from ambition to execution across project finance, M&A, public funding, market entry and institutional engagement.

Before founding Maeloc Partners, Sergio held senior roles at Envision Group, FTI Consulting and Johnson & Johnson, working across energy, infrastructure, industrial and consumer health environments.

He holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from ICAI and has completed corporate finance studies at NYU Stern.

Mingxiao Li

Mingxiao advises on institutional relations and bilateral cooperation between China and Europe, acting as a strategic connector across Chinese and Spanish governmental, institutional and corporate counterparts.

She currently anchors a private association dedicated to the institutional management of Chinese delegations in Spain. Her prior experience spans business development, cross-cultural communication consulting and destination management between Shanghai and Madrid.

Mingxiao holds a Master's in Promotional Marketing from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Bachelor's in Media and Communication from China Women's University.

Institutional Relations

César Álvarez

César advises on institutional relations, regulatory affairs and cross-border public policy, with a focus on energy, sustainability and strategic industry.

He previously served as Chief of Staff at the Spanish Ministry for Energy, Executive Director of the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard University, and he has advised the UN, OSCE and OECD.

He is currently Professor of Public and Regulatory Law at IE University, a former post-doctoral Visiting Researcher at Harvard Law School (Institute for Global Law and Policy). He is also a member of the European Court of Arbitration and a lawyer of the Madrid Bar Association.
